Another weird break but here it is. Unfortunately this week there will be only two photos instead of the usual three. One of guys got stuck helping out with another photo job that didn’t give him the time to take a photo. Priorities are annoying, ain’t they! Well anyway, lets talk about this week’s theme.
This weeks theme is Joy. This theme was chosen because summer is just really getting started people come out of their shells and start enjoying the outside. So thought it would be interesting to capture some of that summer joy! Also the light and the sky in the summer are absolutely splendid. You get those nice long sun sets

Bradley asked me to chime in… I’ve been following along (a few of the weeks at least). Great stuff.
Here are some quick thoughts.
Photo 1: As a pet owner myself, I can see how a photo with a pet could show “joy” And this photo is really close. Great light and great face on the girl. She seems comfortable… but it looks like the cat is trying to escape. I’d like to see more of a connection between the girl and the cat.
Photo 2: This is more in-your-face showing of “joy” It’s a great moment with great faces. My only beef with this image is the crop. Why leave the dude on the left in the frame? He doesn’t add anything in my opinion. He’s just kind of standing there. Crop into where the moment/action is. That’ll really bring you into that kid’s face. That’s where the photo is.

Great work, and again, I love this little project you guys are doing. One of you should make a book out of these images after a year. I could see a cool 52 page book with each spread being a theme.
